Retirement and the Golden Age: Myth or Reality?

For many of my readers, the subject of retirement is the furthest thing from their minds! However, even the younger generations are sensing the speeding up of time, as each new year comes around faster than the last. One day you’re 20, and before you know it, you’re 50 and wondering where the years went by! In numerology, the fourth pinnacle number becomes important when planning ahead for retirement. (Chapter 13: The Long-Term Cycles, The Power of Time)

In my work with clients, I have found that the transition from the middle years of life, those years during which we raise our families and settle into a job or career, into the retirement years, can often be a period of confusion and uncertainty. We live nearly twice as long as we did one hundred years ago, giving all the more importance to this latter part of our life’s journey. The fourth pinnacle begins between the ages of forty-five and fifty-five, depending on the birth date, and can be a valuable source of information when planning for this now increasingly important period of life.

The initial nine-year cycle of the fourth pinnacle in particular can be a period of important adjustment, uncertainty and stress, often requiring a complete reevaluation of life goals. While a few will continue to pursue their life long interests, most will integrate some element of change into their lifestyles. Some feel the urge to express talents that have been repressed since childhood, others are ready to venture out and start a business or take on the challenges of leadership positions, while others enjoy the quiet, simple life or even a spiritual pursuit. One thing is certain, change is in the air!

Most of the confusion arises when the fourth pinnacle number is very different in nature from the numbers already encountered during the course of the life, in particular, the Life Path and first three pinnacle numbers. For some people, they will need the entire nine-year cycle in order to make the necessary changes in their lives. Your fourth pinnacle number will set the tone for that period of your life.

For those who are in their 20′s and 30′s, knowing your 4th pinnacle number can help you to prepare for the Golden years with a plan that is suited to your personal cycles. For those approaching 50, you are in good company. Think not that you are the only confused grown up in the world! Knowledge of this number can shed light on many questions and help you make the adjustments you need for a happier, more peaceful journey.

The important thing to be aware of is the likelihood that a change of trend will occur, and then, once this new trend has been identified, to learn everything you can about this trend and make the best use of it! For example, in a 1 final pinnacle, you will probably need to be a leader in your field, setting the pace and breaking new ground for others that will follow in your footsteps. In a 2 final pinnacle, you will want to experience the comfort of close personal relationships, as well as the pleasure of helping others. In a 3 pinnacle, there is always a desire for creative self expression, and in a 4 pinnacle, a need for home, the security of family and a familiar business to occupy the hours of the day. A 5 pinnacle will encourage adventure and travel while a 6 pinnacle will draw you towards a need for peace and harmony, healing in your relationships. A 7 pinnacle always draws attention inwards, to the inner life, and spirituality. If your final pinnacle is an 8, you will likely be counting your dollars, or attracted to business. If you last pinnacle is a 9, the spiritual journey may attract you as could the arts. Anything is possible with the number 9!
