Year-end Wrap-up by the Numbers

Year-end Wrap-up by the Numbers

As the year winds down, there can be a call to reflect on the learning and the growth experienced during the year. The Personal Year numbers can be used as signposts along a road map, indicating trends that last one calendar year. Each of the 9 years has its own climate and tendencies. Much like planting tomatoes in June is more likely to produce a harvest than planting them during a January frost, choosing activities that are appropriate for your current trends will increase your chances of success during that year…

Lunar Cycles

Lunar Cycles

I’ve been asked a few times recently if the lunar cycle can help select the best time for certain activities, in particular, putting a house up for sale, or making an offer on a property. Being that these are such important financial matters, choosing the best time can be very valuable, and understanding the lunar cycle can definitely give you the right edge.

Projet Coup de pousses

Projet Coup de pousses

As some of you know, I love to experiment with food—it’s the 14/5, R&D in me. Over the last few years, I have explored various techniques for growing microgreens at home. After numerous experiments, I have come to grow enough microgreens so that I no longer need to buy lettuce for my salads. I have purchased only 3 lettuces since last December!
I would love to share this knowledge with our community.

The Meaning of Life

The Meaning of Life

Earlier this year, I was invited to contribute an article addressing the question: What is the meaning of life? Such a big question! If I had been asked to define the meaning of life even just a couple of years ago, I believe I would have been hard-pressed to provide a satisfactory answer—at least not satisfactory for my own understanding. I might have proposed that the meaning of life was to find joy, or to discover ways of experiencing fulfilment, or perhaps to share loving encounters with others or even to make a helpful contribution to the world.

Mother Love

Mother Love

I sometimes point out to clients that the hardest part of being a parent is to know when to stop being a parent. Once a parent, always a parent; it’s not something you just turn off and walk away from. I don’t know if this is a universal experience among all mothers, and maybe even fathers, or if it is just for women raised in the 50’s and 60’s, or stay-at-home moms, or single moms. All I can say is there appears to be an involuntary reflex built into the mothering role that is triggered when a meeting with one of my children is imminent…

In the Company of Numbers

In the Company of Numbers

Numbers are great—well, at least I think so. The numbers derived from the birth date and names provide fascinating insights into our complex, multifaceted lives, from personality traits, unique skills, talents, abilities and preferences, to personal trends and cycles. Sometimes, when explaining to a client the nature of their particular set of numbers, I lay them out in a company setting, assigning the most suitable jobs for each of the numbers. If the numbers were people, where would you find them in a large multinational company?
